Venting my spleen & Jack will be back.....
I’m writing this on the back of a venting. An incident of catharsis. A rising tide of tw*ts, a swarm of idiocy has crashed upon sensibility & grounded thoughts. All of yesterday I was a witness to tweet upon tweet of transfer talk. This would be a normal event at the end of the season. A reasonable topic to be dissected, looking at our weaknesses & strengths, gazing lustily at the crop of talent in Europe, seeing where Wenger could send our roving Knight of Negotiations, Dick Law. Names bandied around like cigarettes in a prison. I’m not entirely blameless either, I’ve discussed players who I’d like to see wearing the Cannon. The straw that breaks Kallstroms’ back however, is that people are having a pop at Arsene for not doing his business early.
Early? How early do you want? The League ended on Sunday. F*cking Sunday. So what has sparked this wanton need for haste? The only thing I can think of is that these cretins have seen Liverpool sniff around Lallana & United leering at Shaw & thought that we should do the same. This is complete lunacy. I’ll break it down for y’all ( Like my street parlance ? )
1 - United & Liverpool being linked with these players. These are just rumours at present. We’re not privy to Boardroom talk or Agents phone records. We sit hunched over Twitter & wait for more reliable sources to tweet something we can latch onto. We have basically no idea what is going on. Normally the old adage ” where there is smoke there is fire” applies, but it is pretty hit & miss. Cool your jets.
2 - How do we know Dick Law & Wengers merry band of scouts aren’t currently scouring the planet ( Bundesliga & La Liga ) for the cream of Europe? It is entirely plausible that Arsene already has his shopping list, has given it to Dick ( ha! ) & is now waiting. ” Waiting, for f*cking what? ” I hear you spit. Well, for our season to end, you see……
3 - Our season hasn’t f*cking finished. The F.A Cup, the small matter of ridding us of our trophy dearth is almost upon us. Seriously, this is what has vexed me more than the other points. It’s on Saturday. You can’t vilify our Manager for holding back & concentrating fully on the Cup. Oh, yes, that’s right, it doesn’t matter about common sense, you will still flagrantly castigate Arsene, as he hasn’t handed the reigns to Bould, jumped on his WengerJet & personally set up a meeting with Cavani. Jeez, I despair. I now know why there are so many different factions of supporter. Because we have a fair amount of people who don’t bother looking into reasons & facts. Hell, there are some who don’t even bother with results. The one thing they enjoy is moaning. These are the same people who enjoyed pulling wings off flies as a child.I completely support the uprising regarding the 3%. I stopped being able to afford to regularly attend matches a while back, but this Final is huge. Cataclysmic. This is the chance to set in motion an era of success. We have the majority of a squad to challenge for the top honours. Please leave the transfer talk at the door & support your team.
Phew. I apologise. That was like a risky w*nk & not getting caught. A relief.
Back to the point of our squad. I’m not ignorant enough to think we can carry on regardless & next season we will be sitting at the top of the tree, flinging our sh!t at the clubs below us. We all know what we desperately lack. I also think that there is a small percentage of people that forget what we already have. Jack Wilshere to name but one.
At the start of the 11/12 season, we had a friendly Vs New York Red Bulls. Jack infamously injured his ankle that game & missed the whole season. After the previous season where he won PFA Young Player of the Year, was named in the Team of the Season & Won Arsenal Player of the Year ahead of Nasri, RV C*ntyBalls & Cesc, this was a huge blow to our aims for the season. Funnily enough though, even after missing a WHOLE SEASON, Wenger gave Jack the Fabled No.10. shirt.
