Arsenal Vs Sunderland Match Preview

Arsenal will hope for the worst of Sunderland's form at the Stadium of Light this Saturday. Depsite reasonably good form Arsenal usually find it stiff against a Martin O'Neill side. Wenger's lads are still in contention for a top-four finish trailing the chokers by only four points so you shouldn't bet against them getting back into the Champions League. For top prices check out the Betfair Premier League odds.

Arsenal's stiffest opposition for fourth spot (assuming third isn't ours to take) is probably Everton

Sunderland have been inconsistent this season winning in the league back-to-back only once this season. Their  recent home form has been decent though, winning three in five, and condeding only to the Spuds but Arsenal have one of the best and most in-form attacks in the league so expect Sunderland to park the bus.

Arsenal will have to be patient on Saturday as Sunderland will set up to frustrate them as they did on the opening day however the attack has improved significantly since then so an early goal would force Sunderland to open up which plays to Arsenal advantage.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 4 and have picked up decent form from the thrashing of West Ham, FA Cup win, the comeback against Liverpool and hard fought win against Stoke City Rugby.
Olivier Giroud has five goals from the last four games and Theo Walcott has four in the past five so both will be keen to continue in that vein.

Steven Fletcher is probably the man to watch having scored 10 of Sunderland's 28 league goals this season so a solid performance in defence will be needed. Gibbs is still injured but his replacement, Nacho Monreal performed well in his first game in England against probably the worst club to make your debut against so should stand up well against Sunderland.

Arsenal will hopefully have Thomas Vermaelen back in the squad from injury and Sagna is starting to pick up form again. If the defence stays solid and we get an early goal this could be a rout for Arsenal and we'd put money on a 4-0 win. Sunderland will probably park the bus though and seek to frustrate so we predict another 1-0 win.
