Match Preview: West Brom vs. Arsenal - Premier League 29.11.2014

After two disappointing results in a row, we finally showed some fightback and some intent, not to mention a bit of wisdom, with a confident midweek win over Borussia Dortmund. Having qualified for the knockout stage for the 15th year in a row, we go into Saturday's visit to the Hawthorns with something resembling a spring in our step for the first time in what feels like ages. The squad that greets us looks a bit worse for wear, having lost its last two, albeit against an invigorated Newcastle and indomitable Chelsea. Far be it from me to recommend kicking someone when they're done, but there are a vital three points at stake. Kick away, I say.

Arsenal vs Dortmund - Match Preview - Champions League 26.11.14

When Arsène Wenger faced the media yesterday he seemed bullish in his optimism and demeanor. For some factions of fans, seeing this after the defeat to Manchester United is just another example of the manager not having "learned his lesson". Objectively though, if you look at the United match in isolation it was one of those matches where Arsenal performed better than their opposition but were punished by the unholy triumvirate that seems to dog Arsenal season after season - wayward finishing, poor officiating and opposition counter attacking.

Match Preview: Arsenal vs. Manchester United – Premier League 22.11.2014

Going into the start of the season, this fixture stood out as a finish line of sorts, a marker against which we could measure our progress after roughly one-third of the season gone. The latter half of this still stands although for reasons a bit different from what we anticipated: instead of vying with Man U for supremacy atop the Prem, we each need a win from this match just to keep alive our hopes of finishing somewhere in the top five.
