We go into the North London Derby on the back of 3 relatively straight forward victories, which is just as well considering our transfer dealings have left a rather nasty cloud hanging over the Emirates. I’m sure when everybody first saw the fixture list of Spurs at home on the 1^st September; people would’ve imagined our squad to be boasting more than just 15 fit senior players, and just the 2 new acquisitions. With just a day left until the deadline closes after the Spurs game, time is running out for Wenger to put together a squad capable of challenging for the title and there will also be little time left for panic buying if we get absolutely trounced tomorrow.

Wednesday’s performance was exactly what the doctor ordered after Saturday’s humiliating defeat to Villa. I always did fancy us against Fenerbahce, I felt it was the perfect place for the players to express themselves and redeem the weekend defeat. Hopefully the squad will be high in spirits and confidence going into the early kick off on Saturday at Fulham.

Fulham started their season off well with a 1-0 victory away at Sunderland. Martin Jol would’ve been pleased with his team’s performance defensively, especially with keeping a clean sheet, something they only achieved on 8 occasions last season, shipping the 60 goals in total.
