Match Review: Chelsea 2 Arsenal 0 - Premier League 19.09.15

Arsenal fell victim to a refereeing performance for the ages, as we once again suffered a miserable defeat at Stamford Bridge. What looked like being an even and entertaining game turned into a farce before half time, as Mike Dean flourished in the leading role with some stunningly inept and petty officiating. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it and I’m sure Mr. Dean will be suitably thrilled at the media coverage his actions will receive.

Match Review: Dinamo Zagreb 2 Arsenal 1 - Champions League 16/09/15

Wednesday’s debacle has left us in a weird place. To call it an upset would be a severe understatement. Despite Zagreb being unbeaten in eleven months (they are effectively guaranteed their league title each year), they hadn’t won in the Champions League since before the millennium. They had a vastly inferior team, despite our rotation and we have an excellent record against teams of their stature. What happened on Wednesday was inexplicable and potentially disastrous for our Champions League campaign.

Match Review: Arsenal 2 Stoke 0 - Premier League 12.09.15

As is becoming tradition, Stoke City were once again given a footballing lesson at the Emirates. As bad as our record is at their place, it’s nothing compared to the carnage they’ve endured at ours. We’ve not been in the greatest of form so far this season, with an early set back, a frustrating home draw and two very gritty away wins. This was not the case on Saturday, there was only one team in it and we finally looked somewhere approaching our fluent best.
