Match Report: Newcastle 0 - 1 Arsenal - Premier League 29.08.15

With Özil missing with a slight knee injury the question before the game was how would we line up. The introduction of Walcott and Chamberlain to the starting XI was a sign that we expected to play on the counter, exposing Newcastle with blistering pace in periods of transition. The other telling point for me was that the duo of Coquelin and Cazorla were retained in the centre with Ramsey ahead of them. It would have been easy and probably expected for Arsene to play Santi at 10 but his decision to field Ramsey there clearly points to him viewing Coquelin and Santi as his preferred central pairing.

Match Review: Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool - Premier League 24/08/15

This was a curious game. Neither team played well in their first two games, but Liverpool had won both, whereas we’d already slipped up badly. While neither team lost on Monday night, both will feel they could and should have come away with the win. We can definitely feel more aggrieved not to have taken the points though, as there were a number of contentious decisions that went against us.

Match Review: Crystal Palace 1 Arsenal 2 - Premier League 16.08.15

Arsenal are off the mark at the second time of asking, as we edged by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Traditionally it’s been a tricky but productive fixture for us and it proved so again, as our failure to capitalise on an excellent start made for a nervy finish to the game. The all important thing though is just that we got the three points and moved on from our opening day debacle, especially with a clash with Liverpool looming next week.
